Uddhav Thackeray says that the paint thrown on the statue of Meenatai Thackeray: Attempts to set Maharashtra on fire.

Mumbai, September 17 (IANS) Tension caught the Chhatrapati Shivaji Park area in Dadar on Wednesday morning when unknown persons painted red colored on the statue of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray’s wife Balasaheb Thackeray’s wife and Shiv Sena (UBT) mother of Shiv Sena (UBT).

A large number of Shiv Sainik and Raj Thackeray -led Maharashtra Navneman Army activists gathered at the venue and strongly condemned the incident demanding action against those responsible for it.

Raj Thackeray, who lives nearby, also visited the site. Shiva soldiers cleaned the statue and demanded strict action against the culprits.

In his first response after the garland to the statue, Uddhav Thackeray said, “What happened today is very condemnable. There can be a person behind it, who is embarrassed to mention his parents’ names. Some dishonest people may have done this. See what happens next.”

He said, “Police have said that they will find out who is behind it. But I repeat, it seems that he is an orphan who is embarrassed to take his parents’ name or tried to do something to set Maharashtra on fire. The same thing happened 18 years ago. Emotions were still more and are strong today.

Police sources said that the incident took place around 10 am when Red Paint was found splashing on the statue of Meinatai Thackeray and his surroundings. Angered over the incident, Shiv Sena (UBT) workers took an aggressive stand and abolished the Act.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who inquired about the police incident on the site, asked them to investigate all CCTVs and find the accused within 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader and vice -president of Maharashtra Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe also condemned the incident, saying that the crook, who instigated the idol, belongs to a perverted and irrational mindset, and said that such an act could not be justified in any way.
