UAPA case: Suspect JEI member's house discovered in Handwada

Srinagar, June 25: Police said on Wednesday that the accused organization discovered in the residential complex of a suspected JEI member, which is banned under the provisions of the illegal activities (prevention) Act (UAPA) while continuing its rift against the elements associated with Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI).

According to a statement issued here, the police said that the discovery was made in relation to the FIR No. 29/2019 U/S10, 13 ULA (P) Act, as part of the ongoing investigation aimed at eliminating the ecosystem of the banned organization registered at Police Station Handwara. He said that the campus was known as Mohammad Amin Shah, a JEI affiliation, which is in the form of Mohammad Amin Shah S/O Gh Mohammad Shah, a resident of Gonipora, which is now putting in Baghtapora New Colony, Handwara.

He said that this discovery was conducted due to the legal process and its purpose was to highlight banned materials, documents, electronic equipment, or any evidence, which indicates affiliation with restricted organizations with restricted illegal activities or affiliation.

The Hanwara police is committed to doing strict tasks against the individuals involved in supporting or campaigning of the accused organizations and reiterates its resolve to ensure peace and security in the region, reading statements.
