A Delta Air Lines pilot has filed a legal lawsuit after his foot became entangled in a moving sidewalk, causing him to fall and injure himself during an accident at Denver International Airport. Kenneth Gow, who lives in Utah, filed a lawsuit against TK Elevator Corporation in December, alleging that a missing piece at the end of the walkway caused the trip, the lawsuit said.

Due to a fall in November 2022, he suffered foot and shoulder injuries that required physical therapy and resulted in missed work. Gao claimed the broken sidewalk created a hazard by “creating an unreasonable risk of harm to passengers.”

Three days after the incident, he went to a clinic in Utah, where he lives, for treatment of injuries to his left ankle, foot and shoulder. Despite receiving physical therapy, the lawsuit states he continued to suffer severe pain. Doctors recommended Gao wear a foot brace and diagnosed him with a left Achilles tendon strain and a left foot contusion, according to court documents.

Gao is seeking compensation, in an amount to be determined during trial, including his medical expenses and damages for physical pain, emotional distress and mental anguish.

Denver International Airport told KUSA in a statement, “The safety of our passengers and employees is always a top priority, and we are working every day to work with our contractors to resolve issues.”
