In a decisive move against terrorism and hard acting against ANES (anti-national elements), police on Sunday detained two “hardcore” on ground workers (OGWs) affiliated to terrorist ranks under the Strict Public Safety Act (PSA) in Budgam district of Central Kashmir.
According to a police spokesperson, the arrested terrorist colleagues have been identified as Tahir Ahmed Kumar S/O AB Hamed Kumar R/O Pearpora and Shabir Ahmed Gani S/O Bashir Ahmed Ganai R/O Carpora Pakarpora.
The arrest followed continuous efforts and action worthy intelligence, indicating the pair participation in providing active assistance to terrorist organizations working in the region. Calling the Public Safety Act, the authorities have ensured their custody for peace and public system and to prevent threats.
The detained individuals played an important role in the convenience of terrorist activities, including their continuous involvement in movement, shelter, logical support, and anti-national activities, in motivating local youth to join the banned (terrorist) organizations. The PSA charge was considered necessary and their detention is an important step towards destroying the terrorist support network in the district.
The Budgam Police has confirmed its resolve to work strongly against all the elements that endanger the security and security of the region.
