Two teenagers die, another seriously injured and fourth injured in car and lorry collision in Stirling

Two teenagers are dead, another is in critical condition and a fourth is injured after a car and truck collision in Stirling.

The accident happened on the A91 at around 3.50pm on Sunday and involved a black Vauxhall Corsa and an HGV.

Emergency services attended the scene and two men aged 17 and 19 who were in the back seat of the Corsa were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 17-year-old male driver of the car was transported by air ambulance Glasgow He remains in critical condition at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The front seat passenger, a 17-year-old female, was taken to the Royal Infirmary. Edinburgh He was treated and later released.

The 29-year-old male driver of the HGV was not injured.

The incident occurred between Bannockburn Junction and Greencornhills roundabout.

The road was closed for investigation work but eventually reopened at around 2.40am on Monday.

An investigation is ongoing and officers are appealing for information.

Roads Officer Elaine Scott said: “My thoughts are with everyone involved in this incident and their families and friends at this difficult time. We will continue to provide support as the investigation progresses.”

“We must find out exactly what happened here and I would appeal to anyone who saw the accident or the vehicle leading up to it to contact us. No matter how important you think the information you have is, we want to hear from you.

“I would also ask drivers who have dash cam footage from the area to review the matter and come forward with any significant information that may be brought to our attention.”
