New Delhi, Nov 18 (IANS) Two schools and three courts in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Tuesday, following which they were immediately evacuated. Police officials gave this information.
According to information, a CRPF school in Dwarka and a school in Prashant Vihar (near which the blast took place last year) had received threat emails. Apart from this, three courts including Saket Court, Patiala House Court and Rohini Court also received threats.
Saket Bar Association Secretary Anil Basoya said, “r/members, court work is suspended for next 2 hours due to security issue. Proceedings will resume after lunch. Remain calm, cooperate and avoid crowd.”
Upon receiving the information, police officials reached the spot along with fire department teams and bomb disposal squads and induced the students and officials to evacuate.
Police at all places say that nothing suspicious has been found in the investigation so far.
Authorities are still investigating all the sites and the source of the emails.
Officials said, “The schools are located in Prashant Vihar and Dwarka, and the bomb threat calls were received around 9 am. We conducted a thorough investigation of both the schools, and found nothing suspicious. It was declared a hoax.”
In view of the situation, security has been beefed up in all the district courts in the national capital and officials have been put on high alert as a precautionary measure.
Although this series of threats came several days after the previous emails, when several schools across the city received such messages, police have advised the public to remain vigilant.
These threats also come just days after the Delhi blast in which a Hyundai i20 car exploded, killing at least 13 people while injuring several others.
When the car exploded, the car was being driven by Dr. Umar Muhammad, a key member of the Faridabad terrorist module.
