Chinese Authorities detained two men on suspicion of spreading false information claiming two giant panda According to police, it had successfully mated in the wild.

The statement said that the police only revealed that the two men, named Dong, 29 years old, from Liaoning Province, and Gao, 33 years old, from Zhejiang Province, were found to have “deliberately distorted facts” and used “technical means” to forge images.
Authorities said the two posted fabricated content online to attract attention, leading police to say “false interpretations spread widely”, disrupting online order and causing “negative social impact.”
Both men were placed under administrative detention and their online accounts were closed under laws prohibiting the spread of false information and disturbing public order, police said.
