Jaipur, October 21 (IANS) Two blood-soaked bodies were found in Mohannagar town of Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan on Tuesday, causing panic in the area.
The bodies of a local grain trader and his accountant were found about six kilometers away from Mohangarh Mandi.
The deceased were identified as businessman Madanlal and his accountant Revantram. According to reports, he was murdered on Monday.
The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the temple priest, who was returning after performing morning aarti at the nearby Hanuman temple in Pokar Puri, saw blood-soaked bodies near Madanlal’s shop.
The priest said, “I had come to wish Madanlal a happy Diwali and saw several goats outside his shop. When I went closer to remove them, I saw the dead bodies of Madanlal and his accountant. I immediately informed the police.”
After the incident, there is panic and anger in the business community of Mohangarh.
Local shopkeepers and market associations have demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and strict night patrolling in the area.
On receiving the information, Mohangarh police station reached the spot along with the forensic science laboratory team and collected evidence.
Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and are examining nearby CCTV footage to ascertain the sequence of events.
As soon as the news of the murder spread, a huge crowd of villagers gathered at the spot. Additional policemen have been deployed in Mohangarh to maintain law and order.
Inspector Bhuta Ram of Nachana police station told IANS that he and his team are investigating the entire case to know who was there at the time of the incident and what could have been the reason for this gruesome murder on a festive night.
“Officials are investigating all angles, including personal enmity and business rivalry, to find out the motive behind the crime,” he said.
