The Apache RTX 300 will be the first TVS model to feature the new 299cc RT-XD4 engine. This single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 34.5 hp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It is likely to be mated to a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch.
According to media reports, the patent filing and visuals of the test mule have revealed the design of the bike. The Apache RTX 300 will have a semi-built look with twin LED headlamps, LED turn indicators, a muscular fuel tank, LED tail lamps and a transparent windshield. The rear will feature a split-pillion grab rail connected to a luggage rack and an uplifted exhaust.
The bike is built on a trellis frame and will have a fully adjustable upside-down front fork and a monoshock at the rear. It is expected to come with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, with an emphasis on long distance travel rather than off-road riding. Braking duties are likely to be handled by disc brakes.
The Apache RTX 300 is expected to be equipped with raised handlebars, a two-piece step seat, a luggage rack and an upright windshield. It is also expected to offer modern features like a TFT display, multiple ride modes and traction control.
The bike is likely to go up against the KTM 250 Adventure in India.
