Thomas Tuchel laughed England fans’ sarcastic slogans Who hit out at the German after criticizing the “silent” atmosphere at Wembley last week.
Tuchel complained about the lack of noise made by his own supporters in their last fixture against Wales, and England supporters traveling in Latvia responded by breaking out a series of chants challenging Tuchel’s claim in the opening minutes of the game, most prominently singing: “Are we making enough noise for you?”
Fans also stood and sang in protest of their manager: “Thomas Tuchel, we will sing what we want!” He then told Tuchel to put his money where his mouth is, shouting, “Thomas, give us a song! Thomas, Thomas, give us a song!”
While the German manager did not respond with a vocal display of his own, he did acknowledge the fans by waving to them, which was greeted with cheers from the distance.

“I had a little bit of trouble in the first half, but it was quite nice and well done, had a good sense of humor and no problems,” said Tuchel, who could have no complaints about the noise this time around. “It was fantastic support from start to finish.”
Tuchel was unhappy with his own support after Craig Bellamy’s 3-0 win over Wales last week, in which a significant contingent of the crowd of 70,000 left before full-time amid serious delays on the London Underground.
Tuchel said, “There was silence in the stadium. We never got any energy from the fans. If you just listen to the Wales fans, it’s a bit sad. The team deserved big support. What more can we give in 20 minutes?”
“The support in Serbia was absolutely fantastic. I love English football fans but the atmosphere today didn’t match the performance on the field.”
“I stand by this statement. We can’t do anything more than 3-0 in the derby. I was thinking: ‘Why is there still a roof on the stadium?’
“I would have liked a bit more support in those stages where it becomes difficult. Wales got a bit too much support for being behind us in the second half.”
The same cannot be said in Riga, as the unruly touring party from England has presented its case.
