US President Donald Trump has once again called for ending the practice of changing watches for the time of saving day. He urged the Congress to stop shifting time twice a year as it adds an unnecessary financial burden on the country.
Mr. Trump, on Truth Social, wrote, “House and Senate should work hard for more daylight at the end of a day. Very popular and, most importantly that no more of watches, no more, a big discomfort and, for our government, for our government, a very expensive event !!!”
For decades, people have been arguing whether to implement the time of saving daylight. Many politicians and leaders have demanded that this bipolar practice be stopped.
In December, Donald Trump criticized a biennial clock change on social media. Subsequently, he said, “The Republican Party will use its best efforts to eliminate the daylight saving time, which has a small but strong constituency, but not! Saving daylight time is uncomfortable, and is very expensive for our nation.”
However, a few months after firmly supporting the time of saving permanent day, they called it a “fifty-fifty issue”. He said that half people want to change every autumn and fall, while the rest do not want.
He said, “This is something that I can do, but many people like it in a way, many people like it in another way.”
Senator Ted Cruise said that people will agree to stop the changing watches twice a year, but there is a disagreement at this time at what time we should keep permanently. He wants to expand some evening sunshine because it is useful for playing sports and outdoor fun, while others prefer standard time because it leads to better sleep.
Even in 2022, the bill proposed by the US Senate under the leadership of Democrats urged to end the changing times of twice-year-old watches. Since the Republican-controlled house did not take the bill, it did not reach the then President who did not reach the desk of Biden.
