A federal grand jury has indicted the President donald trumpis the former National Security Advisor John Bolton — becoming the latest critic in the growing feud between the president and his former confidant.

Trump’s Justice Department, which is prosecuting the case, announced the indictment Thursday along with the attorney general palm bondi Saying, “No one is above the law.”

A year after first interviewing for the position of National Security Advisor and losing to H.R. McMaster, Trump announced on Twitter (now X) that Bolton would take on the role – despite rumors that the President was not a fan of Bolton’s signature mustache.

In an online post, Trump announced that Bolton had been fired, saying that he “strongly disagreed with many of his suggestions, as did others in the administration” – though he thanked Bolton “very much for his service.”

Although accounts appeared to differ, Bolton wrote in response: “I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, ‘Let’s talk about it tomorrow.'”

The 577-page book was finally published in June of that year and presented an unflattering description of the President, describing him as having little knowledge of foreign policy. “Trump saw conspiracies behind the rocks, and remained astonishingly ignorant about how to run the White House, let alone the vast federal government,” Bolton wrote.

Bolton criticized Trump, saying it was a mistake for Republicans to align with the president for the 2024 election.

“It goes to the question of character and fitness for the presidency,” Bolton told CBS News.

January 2024

In a new introduction to the book, Bolton expressed his fears about a second Trump presidency, saying the president was “unsuited” for the top job. He wrote, “If his first four years were bad, his second four years will be even worse.”

Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller said, “For someone who claims to have such great disdain for President Trump, ‘Book Deal Bolton’ has certainly found a way to sour the relationship.” Axios In those days.

Bolton is accused of illegally sending hundreds of pages of classified national defense information to his family members, including foreign intelligence information and details of U.S. government covert operations, as well as other documents labeled “top secret,” according to his indictment.

He was charged with eight counts of disseminating national defense information and 10 counts of unlawfully possessing NDI.

Bolton denied any wrongdoing in the classified documents matter and issued a statement Thursday saying the allegations were part of an effort to “intimidate” Trump’s opponents.
