Donald Trump Threatens to strike ‘immediately’ Canada If they reach a deal, impose 100% tariffs on all goods and products China.
“If Governor Carney thinks he is Will make Canada an “unloading port” for goods and products sent from China “If he enters the United States, he is making a big mistake,” the president wrote in a Saturday morning Truth Society post.
“China will eat Canada alive and consume it completely, including destroying their businesses, social fabric and overall way of life. If Canada and China reach a dealwill immediately impose 100% tariffs on all Canadian goods and products entering the United States.”
China and Canada announce the establishment of a new “strategic partnership” Prime Minister Mark Carney Earlier this month, it pledged to expand trade and mutual investment between the two countries, while focusing on areas such as agriculture, agricultural products, energy and finance.

During the meeting between the leaders of the two countries, this was the first visit by a Canadian leader to China in nearly a decade. Carney announced that Canada hopes China will reduce canola tariffs to 15% before March 1. In return, Ottawa will allow 49,000 Chinese electric vehicles to enter the Canadian market.
Trump initially said the deal was something Carney “should do and it would be a good thing for him to sign a trade deal,” but he appeared to change his mind on Saturday.
Shortly after Trump and Carney spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, last week.
In his speech, Carney warned of “an era of great power competition” and suggested that the U.S.-led world order was over and “will not come back.”
“If major powers abandon the pretense of rules and values and pursue their power and interests unimpeded, the gains of transactionalism will become harder to replicate,” Carney said.

“We know that this rupture requires more than just adaptation. It requires an honest look at the world as it is,” he continued. “We know the old order isn’t coming back. We shouldn’t mourn it. Nostalgia is not a strategy.”
Although he did not mention Trump by name or specifically mention the United States, the speech was seen as a rebuke of the president’s policies, including his tariff regime, his previous threats to force Canada to become the 51st U.S. state, and his efforts to acquire Greenland.
Days later, Trump wrote online that he would rescind Canada’s invitation to join his “Peace Council,” which was established to help with Gaza’s reconstruction and transition of power.
“Dear Prime Minister Carney,” Trump wrote on The Truth Society on Thursday. “Please allow this letter to be taken on behalf of the Peace Council, which at any time withdraws its invitation to Canada to join the most prestigious Leaders Council ever.”
Carney’s office said he plans to accept Trump’s invitation to join the “peace committee.” Reuters reported last week.
independent The White House and Carney’s office have been contacted for comment on the president’s tariff threats.
