President Donald Trump has announced that the US military has carried out deadly attacks ISIS targets in Nigeria After the group targeted Christians.
“Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against the ISIS terrorist gang in northwestern Nigeria, who are targeting and brutally killing primarily innocent Christians, at a level not seen for many years and even centuries!” the President wrote in a Truth Social post on Christmas Day evening.
Trump further said, “I had already warned these terrorists that if they did not stop killing Christians, they would have to pay the price, and that is what happened tonight.”
“The War Department carried out a number of preemptive strikes, as only the United States is capable of. Under my leadership, our country will not allow radical Islamic terrorism to flourish. God bless our military, and Merry Christmas to all, including the dead terrorists, there will be more such attacks if the massacre of Christians continues.”

Much of northern Nigeria is in the grip of conflict due to the ongoing security crisis and Trump has blamed the country for the “killing of Christians” by “radical Islamists”.
Victims and church leaders have echoed Trump’s claims that Christians are persecuted, saying they have long been attacked, kidnapped or killed for their faith.
But many insist the reality is not so simple, with experts and residents saying most of the attacks emphasize the widespread violence that has long plagued the West African nation, where everyone is a potential victim regardless of background or belief.
