US President Donald Trump said on Thursday (local time) that in his recent phone calls with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, he made “no progress” over efforts to end the struggle in Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday (US local time), Trump said that on his phone call, he and Putin discussed many things, including Iran and Russia-Ukraine conflicts.
“We had a call. It was a very long call. We talked about a lot of things including Iran and we also talked about it, as you know, war with Ukraine. I am not happy about it,” Tram said.
Asked if there was any progress on the possible deal to end the struggle in Ukraine, Trump replied, “No, I did not make any progress with him today.”
During his telephonic conversation, Putin clarified that Russia would “not” not “to” finish “the root cause of war in Ukraine, Al Jazeera told
“Russia won’t return,” Kremlin’s associate Yuri Usakov told reporters after Putin’s phone with Trump. However, he said that Putin expressed “readiness” to seek a political and a solution to a conversation for the struggle.
“Putin emphasized that Russia tries to achieve its goals in Ukraine and remove the” root causes “of conflict, Ushakov said.” The root cause “refers to Ukraine’s push to join NATO here, after which Russia began an invasion of Ukraine in 2022 to prevent Keev from joining the US-centric.

On 27 June, Putin said that Russia will no longer engage in the “unilateral” games with the West, RT said. He made these comments while addressing a press conference on the edge of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit in Minsk.
According to RT, Putin said that Western countries have repeatedly cheated Russia and resolved the Ukraine struggle by not respecting their promises about the expansion of NATO. He emphasized that NATO is using the alleged Russian “aggression” that can be justified by the member states in Europe to increase the scheme of increasing defense spending up to 5 percent of the gross domestic product and bolt military attendance.
“They [the West] Putin said, “Everything is going upside down.
“No one is saying a word about how we have come to the Russian special military operation,” he said that the origin of the Ukraine conflict is behind the decades, when the intentions of Moscow NATO were “clearly lying”. He said, “After this there was a wave one after the other.”
Putin said that Russia’s frequent security concerns about NATO activities were ignored by the West. He said, “Is it not an aggressive behavior? It is a fine aggressive behavior, which the West does not want to pay attention.” Russian President also accused Western countries of supporting separatist and terrorist movements for a long time
