US President Donald Trump said that he planned to impose 50 percent on copper imports on 1 August in the hope of promoting vital metal production of important metal.
Trump announced a tariff on his true social stage on Wednesday and said that semiconductor, aircraft and battery require copper and the second most commonly used material by the Defense Department.
“America, once again, will build a major copper industry,” he said.
Trump, in the action of a February President, warned a copper tariff that China dominates the refinement of global copper, which he had called a threat to national security.
Tariff is to be effective on the top of the current 50% tariff on steel and aluminum on 1 August.
