Trump hired me to investigate election fraud — and I proved his claims were crazy

Bullock writes in his book that of all the claims reviewed, the idea that Wisconsin’s 740,070 voters cast double votes “is by far the craziest” and “the dumbest.”

The accusation originated from a user of a Trump website forum. Their data was incomplete — they found one file that did not include 600,000 individual votes — and they made a basic mathematical error.

“They believe they’ve found a smoking gun – not just in Wisconsin, but across the country,” Bullock said. “They want the federal government to send investigators in, and they want arrests made.”

“The mistake was immediately obvious, but after the men got a lot of media attention, the story took off like crazy.”

Once he shows Trump lawyers the truth, that should be the end of it. However, he said at the Jan. 6 rally that he lost Wisconsin because of “repression.”

Trump also told his supporters: “More than 8,000 votes were cast in Pennsylvania by people whose names and dates of birth matched those of the deceased… Think about it. People died, a lot of people died, thousands of people .”

Bullock had already told Trump’s team weeks ago that this was not true. Pennsylvania can use the identity of a deceased person for up to 15 votes. Bullock wrote that this tiny number of “zombie voters” was far from enough to change a state that Trump lost by more than 80,000 votes.

Cannon recognized the pattern as claim after claim was rejected, Bullock said. At first, he asked, “Please try to verify this statement.” Finally, he said, “Tell me why this statement is false.”

None of this seems important to Trump.

At the end of his speech on January 6, Trump told his supporters to “fight like hell.” “We won in a landslide,” he said, but his opponents “rigged the election.” “This is the most corrupt election in history and perhaps the world.”

He asked them to help stop Biden from “stealing” the White House and called for more pressure on congressional Republicans to “take back our country.” “We’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue … and then go to the Capitol,” he concluded.

Would this tempt Bullock to reveal his work to the public, showing them the truth to help stop the lies?

“It doesn’t matter,” he said. “At that point, there was no way to have a rational conversation about the facts. People were outraged – and that put me and my family at huge risk.”
