US President Donald Trump averted his role in Cambodia-Thailand’s ceasefire, saying that he has directed his team to resume trade talks with two southeastern Asian countries.
Trump said that he spoke to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thai acting PM Fummtham Vichayachai, warning him that no business deal would be signed during the struggle.
“Just spoke to the acting Prime Minister of Thailand and the Prime Minister of Cambodia. I am happy to announce that, after the participation of President Donald J. Trump, both countries have reached a ceasefire and peace. Congratulations to all!
He said, “I have instructed my business team to resume the trade on business. I have now ended many wars in just six months – I am proud to be the president of peace!”
“I have instructed my business team to resume the business teams again,” he said. Over the weekend, Trump said he told the leaders that he would not deal with the countries “unless you settle the war.”
Speaking earlier on Monday during a bilateral meeting with the UK Prime Minister Kir Stmper, Trump took credit for diplomatic success.
“We solved that war, you probably saw it, came out over the wire, so we solved it through business.
The declaration of ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand was announced by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who held a conversation between his official residence, Kualpur, between the current president of the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and acting Thai Prime Minister Fummatha Vachachai, Kualpur.
According to data from Thai and Cambodian officials, according to CNN, both sides have accused the latest border flare-up and alleged the latest border for the ongoing fighting, which has killed at least 35 people and injured more than 200.
The dispute over their border goes back for decades.
The fight report was dragged even after the declaration of ceasefire.
“I still hear the sound of shooting … it’s not yet finished. Let’s wait and see by midnight.”
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that South East Asian countries agreed to stop the talks, but the local fight continued throughout the weekend. Trump said that he warned the Thai and Cambodian leaders that if the deadly border struggle continues, he would not either do business deals with the country. (AI)
