Trudeau reveals Nijar’s killing, says he’s standing up for Canadians

Canada’s national intelligence agency released the results of its investigation, indicating China interfered in the country’s 2019 and 2021 elections. The Liberals, led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, won both elections.

Trudeau was speaking at a hearing of the Foreign Interference Committee, which is led by Quebec judge Marie-Josie Hogg.

During the hearing, Trudeau accused Canada’s previous Conservative government of being “cozy” with the current Indian government.

When asked about foreign interference during the 2019 election and redactions in the National Security Agency’s 2019 annual report, Trudeau said: “In public, I cannot talk about redactions that were made for national security reasons. Trudeau testified Wednesday about the steps his government has taken to address foreign interference since taking power in 2015.

“I think this is certainly an issue that needs to be raised with the previous conservative government, which was known for its close relationship with the current Indian government. And our government has always stood up to defend minorities in Canada and the rights of minorities to have a voice, even if It angers their home countries overseas,” Trudeau said when asked whether appropriate steps were not taken to expose foreign interference.
