Exercise Trishul has set new standards in jointness and interoperability and “we go back from it even stronger”, top Indian military commanders said on Thursday (November 13).

The mega tri-service exercise lasting about two weeks will conclude after the conclusion of the final amphibious exercise, AMPEX 2025, which is currently underway off the Madhavpur beach off the Saurashtra coast in Gujarat.

Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command; Vice-Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Air Command, interacted with the media before the commencement of AMFX 2025.

From the Thar Desert to Kutch, the Army, Navy and Air Force have been participating in a series of sub-exercises over the past two weeks, under the broader framework of Exercise Trishul.

Lieutenant General Seth said that the exercise has set a new benchmark in jointness, integration and interoperability.

New weapons, military equipment and procedures were tested and Exercise Trishul Operation validated them, he told reporters.

GOC-in-C, Southern Command said, “We are ready to face all future challenges.”

Vice Admiral Swaminathan said around 30,000 Army personnel, several fighter aircraft and around 25 Navy ships and submarines participated in the exercise.

“We have practiced maneuvers, including with the Carrier Battle Group. And the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant was part of it,” he said.

“We are coming back much stronger from Exercise Trishul,” the Western Naval Command chief said.

Reflecting the tri-service synergy, three top commanders of the Indian Army had earlier boarded INS Vikrant and reviewed a joint multi-domain operation conducted as part of Exercise Trishul.

According to a senior official, “They witnessed an operational demonstration of carrier-borne flight operations and ongoing replenishment last night.”
