Agartala, Nov 11 (IANS) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday alleged that the previous Left Front government had made job recruitment a farce, while the current BJP government is ensuring transparency in all sectors, including employment.
After inaugurating the Kakarban Government Degree College in Gomti district, the Chief Minister said that the BJP government is working with priority for the overall development of the education sector in the state and special importance has been given to providing quality education to the students.
Saha also inaugurated a 50-bed girls hostel of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) at Kakarban Government Degree College grounds.
The Tripura Chief Minister blamed the misgovernance during the previous regime, saying that people who were inspired by communist ideology had created anarchy in schools and colleges under the banner of Naxalism at that time.
He said, “No one knew when a bomb would explode in a school or college, or who would be injured. That was the situation then.”
Saha said that today efforts are being made to eliminate Maoists with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the efforts of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
He said, “On Monday too, communists held a meeting in Agartala in the name of CITU. They said that we have to protest, we have to take to the streets. But people now do not like the politics of provocation because they have experienced it and understood it. If someone did not belong to his party, he would not have got a job. But our present government is now giving jobs while maintaining transparency and fairness. This government is working in a transparent manner in every field.”
Saha said that CPI (M) used to look for people from its own party in everything.
The CM said, “That is, he did liberation politics. People are now understanding that during his time, a farce was played in the name of jobs. Our government has provided around 20,000 jobs so far after coming to power. There is no challenge anywhere. We want to build a better Tripura through a peaceful and progressive environment. Our government is working under the guidance of the Prime Minister.”
He further said that the present government has paid special attention to providing quality education to children.
Saha said, “I would like to tell the students that they should also be involved in social work during their student life. We have to work for the people. The Prime Minister says that education is not just text-based knowledge but a tool for values, development and nation building. We have to work keeping this in mind.”
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Higher Education Minister Kishore Burman, MLA Jitendra Majumdar, Ranjit Das, Gomti Zilla Parishad Chairman Debal Debroy, Kakarban Panchayat Samiti Chairman Supriya Saha and other public representatives and senior officials were present in this program.
