Former colleagues of a bus driver who died with his wife after his car Isle of Wight Has expressed his sadness.
The incident occurred near the needles on Friday evening, a famous group of Chalk Sagar piles, when his Ford Mondo got out of the road.
Hampshire And the Isle of White Constabulary confirmed the death of a 67 -year -old man, a 66 -year -old woman and two of her dachshunds.
The deceased has been identified locally as John King, a former Southern Vactis Bus Driver and his wife, Lynn.
John King’s former colleagues said they were “sad to learn” of the “tragic” incident.
Richard Tyledasley, general manager of Southern Vactis, said: “John King was not an employee of Southern Vactis at the time of his death, left earlier in the year.
“John worked for the company as a network driver two and a half years before leaving. We are sad to know about this tragic incident and our views are with his family and friends at the moment.”
A spokes for Hampshire Constable Said: “We can confirm the death of two people, a woman and a man, between 66 and 67 years of age, a woman and a man respectively after an incident on the needles on the Isle of White on Friday 6 June.
“We were called at 7.21 am after a Ford Mondo, which was being run with alum bay new road, exiting the road, came out of the rock and came down to rest in the water.
“Two dogs, both Dachshand, were also in the car and died in the incident.
