Tribal Affairs Minister Kulgam express grief over the death of tribals nomads in landslides

Srinagar, 06 August: Tribal Affairs Minister, Javed Ahmed Rana has expressed deep grief over the traded loss of two members of the Nomadic tribe passing through Mahore in a landslide incident in Waltangu Narada area of Kujalpathi, Waltangu Narada area of Kulgam district.

According to the local administration, the incident occurred when a stone slide hit a dhok (temporary shelter), causing an unfortunate death of two nomads and injuring two others.

The injured have been transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, immediately visited the site and directed immediate rescue and relief measures.

Rescue teams and officials were suppressed in service to provide timely assistance to the affected families.

Minister Javed Ahmed Rana expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured to recover rapidly.

He also assured that the government will expand all possible support for the injured persons along with the families of the deceased, in coordination with the district administration.

The minister said, “We are standing in solidarity with the families affected during this hour of grief.

The department of tribal matters is in close contact with the district officials to monitor the status and ensure that the necessary support reached the victims without any delay.
