R&B singer Trey Songz A Manhattan nightclub employee has been charged with assault and aggravated harassment after allegedly punching him in the face.
According to court records obtained by Independentartist, whose Real name is Tremaine Alden NeversonHe appeared in court on Sunday and pleaded not guilty to assault charges.
The 41-year-old “Na Na” singer was partying at the Times Square nightclub drama when a staff member told Neverson and his party they were closing after 4 a.m. on Dec. 4, causing him to become “inexplicably angry,” prosecutors told Manhattan Criminal Court. New York Post,
Prosecutors said the club worker was ordered for protection against Neverson, who is a regular at the venue.
In a separate charge of criminal mischief, the singer was accused of causing approximately $1,500 in damage to a restaurant and hookah lounge in Manhattan.
Neverson was released on his own recognizance Sunday and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 18, records show.
Neverson’s attorney, Michelle Schuster, said in a statement. The Independent: “Trey Songz was charged in connection with an incident that happened last week. He is cooperating fully and is waiting for the facts to emerge.
“Separately, on Saturday night, Trey encountered individuals who instigated the confrontation and attempted to corner him. His security intervened to protect him and control the situation, and the ensuing confusion resulted in an altercation.
“Public figures are often the targets of instigation for headlines or financial gain. We believe the facts will speak for themselves.”

neverson Has faced many legal issues in the past.
In 2016, after a demonstration in Detroit, Neverson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for fatally shooting a police officer and injuring a photographer. It was alleged that the singer “began throwing objects at the venue after his concert was cut short due to the 11:30 pm curfew” and “hit an officer with his fist.” He pleaded guilty to two reduced counts of disturbing the peace in August of the following year, and was sentenced to 18 months of probation, substance screening, and anger-management classes.
Between 2020 and 2022, three women came forward to accuse Neverson of sexual harassment, all of which Neverson has denied. Earlier this year, he reached a confidential settlement with a woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her in a Miami nightclub on New Year’s Eve in 2018.
