Trevor Noah opens up about being single and celibate at 40

Trevor Noah recently talked about living the single life at age 40.

Speaking on the latest episode of now what? Podcast, East daily show The hosts discussed dating and singleness.

“Whether I liked it or not, society considered me a loser,” Trevor revealed.

The talk show host continued, “Being married is like you’ve served. There is a certain respect associated with it.”

“If you’ve never been married, people treat you kind of weird, where they treat you like you’re not a serious person in life,” he said.

“A lot of things in society that are based on plus-ones are not being allowed to bring a friend to events where spouses and other people were allowed to attend together,” Trevor said.

“I’m like, ‘This idiot was married six months ago. They don’t even know this person and you’re going to tell me I can’t get along with my best friend, about whom I can tell you every intimate detail. Can I?” he shared.

The TV personality believed, “Marriage is not necessarily evidence of a strong relationship between two people.”

“Sometimes the most important people in your life are your friends,” Trevor said.

The comedian commented, “There’s something romantic about the idea that we should diversify our portfolio of emotions.”

Trevor noted, “Sometimes they make a profit, and sometimes they add value to my holdings.”

“Obviously, there is no one way to live life,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Trevor was previously romantically linked to Minka Kelly and Dua Lipa.
