After a train near Milton Keins, a huge delay and cancellation is expected at London Euston railway station.
The London Northwestern Rail said the “low speed” was derailed at the Bellechle near Milton Keins on Thursday.
The railway operator said that there were no passengers in the train and there was no injury.
National Rail warns that “the major disruption by the end of the day is expected”.
A statement on its website said, “A train is closing some lines in Milton Keins Central Area.” “Trains running through this station can be canceled, delay or modified by up to 90 minutes.”
Milton Keins is on the West Coast Menline, connecting London to Midlands and North England and Scotland.
London Northwestern Railway and Avanti West Coast operate trains on this line.
Avanti West Coast said that people can use their tickets on the following services:
- Chilterne Railway between London Marylebone and Birmingham Moore Street
- Crosscontory between Reading and Edinburgh (via Birmingham New Street)
- East Midlands Railway London St. Pancris International and Shefield / Derby, and between Shefield and Manchester Pikadili / Liverpool Lime Saint (via Stockport)
- LNER between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh
- Preston and Manchester Pikadili / Glasgow Central / Edinburgh between Transpanen Express, and Manchester Pikadili and Leeds
- London Northwestern Railway Rugby and Crave / Liverpool Lime Street (via Nuneton or Birmingham New Street), and between Crave and Stoke-on-Truce
- Northern between Manchester and Stoke-on-Tant / Crave, both guidelines by the end of the day, and between Carlisley and Newcastle, to further notices in both directions
- Scotelle between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh in both directions until next notice
- Transport to Wales between Crave and Holihead in both directions until next notice
London Northwestern Railway said its customers can use their tickets on the following routes:
- Avanti West Coast between London Euston / rugby and Crave, and also between Crave and Liverpool Lime Street
- Birmingham Moore Street and London Marylebone Chiller Railway
- Birmingham New Street and Crosscrity between Reading / Lacester / Stoke-on-Trent, and also between Tamworth and Derby
- East Midlands Railway between Crave and Derby, and Derby and London St. Pancris International
- London overground on any proper route
