Trans women are to be discovered by male officers in Britain: report

In the most senior court of the UK, judges unanimously ruled on Wednesday that in the legal definition of a woman in the Equality Act 2010, transgender women were not involved in the legal definition of a woman who holds gender recognition certificates.

A spokes for BTP said, “Under the previous policy, we advised that someone with gender recognition certificate could be discovered according to their acquired sex.

“However, as an interim position when we digest tomorrow’s decision, we have advised our authorities that any similar sex discoveries in custody are to be done according to the captive’s biological birth sex.

“We are in the process of reviewing the implications of the ruling and will consider any necessary updates for our policies and practices to suit law and national guidance.”
