resident newry, County Armaghhave come out in support of local contestant Rachel Duffy, praising her “strategic” approach to the BBC One reality show traitor, In a dramatic twist, a “traitor” tries to expose her.
latest episode Claudia Winkleman’s RachelOne of the secret “traitors”, directly suspected by his associate Fiona.
Previously, Rachel revealed to a group of exiled loyalists that Amanda had confided in her that she was a former police detective. Fiona faced Rachel directly and said, “I really doubt you. I don’t know why she would tell you.”
Despite the tense atmosphere on screen, Newry locals remained staunchly supportive. Mary Walls described Rachel as a “very strategic” and “confident” player. “I think she’s very confident, and I also think she knows her own mind,” Walls commented, acknowledging the pressure Rachel faces from Fiona, who is “determined to win and I think she’ll do whatever it takes to win.”

Walls expressed “complete confidence” that Rachel will adjust her strategy, adding that she’s “very comfortable with the game, she knows how to play the game, and she’s done a lot of background work as well.”
Mary’s niece Colleen Walls echoed the sentiment, suggesting Rachel “needs to be careful with Fiona” because “she has no regard for her own interests”. Colleen concluded: “She’s playing dumb, she is.”
Eileen Maginnis emphasized Rachel’s ability to “work her way out of everything,” recalling an earlier comment Rachel made about “the Turret” (a traitor hangout) that almost backfired. “I wonder if she shot herself in the foot when she talked about the turrets,” Maginnis added thoughtfully, “I think maybe some people will start to doubt her.”
Grace Boyle, 23, expressed great pride, calling Rachel “the kind of person you would be proud to say she’s from Newry because she’s so good.”

However, Boyle also predicted there could be a “plot twist” if Rachel becomes “overconfident about herself.” Pointing to Rachel’s perceived “mom” figure, which is currently helping to deflect suspicion, she said: “Everyone sees her as a mom, so I don’t think anyone is doubting her at the moment, which is good.”
