Traffic advisors issued for Jammu-Srinagar NHW, other major routes among the ongoing Sanji

Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, has issued a traffic plan and advisory on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) on July 20, 2025. Under the right weather and better road conditions, the traffic movement will be allowed on the highway from both sides.

Sanjee convoy and LMV, including passengers and private cars, will be allowed from both sides, while heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will be allowed in alternative days.

Cut-off timing is specified for LMV and passenger/private cars. From Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar, vehicles will be released from 0600 am to 1200 pm, while from Jakhani (Udampur) towards Srinagar, the time will be from 0700 am to 1300 pm. From Kajigund towards Jammu, vehicles will be released from 1130 am to 1400 pm.

Due to the ongoing Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2025, some restrictions have been imposed on vehicles carrying fresh and spoiled goods. After assessing the road and traffic status, HMVS will be allowed to move from Jakhani (Udhampur) to Srinagar, and no HMV will be allowed after 1900.

Other routes have also been included in the traffic advisory, including the installment-scholar-Anantnag NH-244, SSG Road and Mughal Road. On the installment-tonathan-sanathanag road, LMV and high passenger vehicles (HPSVs) will be allowed to be subject to proper weather and good road conditions from both sides. On SSG Road, with specific times specific to LMV and HMVS, traffic movement will be allowed in a regulated manner.

On Mughal Road, LMVs, including passengers and private cars, will be allowed on both sides, while HMV with ten tires will be allowed from Shopian to Poonach.

Passengers are advised to check the road status with traffic control units before starting their journey and follow the specified cut-off timing and traffic rules.

Traffic police have also provided contact numbers to passengers to check the road conditions and get updates.
