A day later, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced to reopen eight major tourist places to revive tourism and restore public confidence, several places in Kashmir were thrown openly to tourists.
Re -opened sites include several parks in the picturesque Betab Valley, Seren Verinag, Cokeranag, Achbal Mughal Garden and Pahgam Town. The decision was welcomed by local people, political leaders and tourists.
These destinations were temporarily closed after a terrorist attack in Besaran Meadow in Pahgam, claiming the lives of 25 Indian citizens and a Nepali citizen.
With re -opening, tourists were seen coming to a large number of sites.
A woman tourist at the initiative told ANI, “This decision of the government is correct. If there is no tourism, how will the local people live? The government’s initiative is good. Tourists are opening again with adequate security. I urge everyone to visit tourism here and support …”
Local politicians also decided.
His party president Altaf Bukhari said, “This is a welcome step. It sends a positive message to the nation that Kashmir is now normal. I appeal to people all over India, come to Kashmir. It is safe as your cities and homes.”
Pahlgam MLA Altaf Kalu said, “Places have been opened and the Amarnath Yatra is also going to start soon. It is a positive thing. In the coming time, all other tourist places will also open. The number of tourists has started increasing, which is a positive sign. It is our duty to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that our duty is that it is a success of success.”
On Saturday, LG Sinha, during his visit to Pahalgam, met MLAs, DDC Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, Tour Operator, Poniwala Association and delegation of hoteliers. He assured them that other sanctions would be lifted after thorough security reviews.
Sharing an update on the social media platform X, LG Sinha said, “I have ordered to reopen some tourist places in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions, which were temporarily closed as precautionary measures. Pahgam Bazaar, Verinag Garden and Acabal Garden to open from June 17.
They were added, “Other tourist places are being responded to, including Badamwari Park, Duck Park, Srinivasagar Valley in Takdar Park and Panchari in Udampur. (ANI)
