Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow leads the leading trade mission for UK, Ireland

Toronto – Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow is leading a trade mission for the United Kingdom and Ireland, which she says that Toronto will focus on supporting economic opportunities for businesses and workers.

The journey is scheduled to begin on Sunday and Chow says that it will be with Toronto’s film industry leaders.

The mayor is going to get with production companies and broadcasters to encourage canadian material production through agreements with Ireland and UK.

Chow says that at the time of “historical uncertainty”, reliable business partners have never been more important, adding the journey is part of the city’s economic action plan, which is to respond to the American tariff.

The mayor has meetings with officials of Ireland-Canada Business Association, Enterprise Ireland and UK-Canada Chamber of Commerce.

He is also scheduled to attend bilateral meetings with Dublin Lord Mayor Ray McDam and London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan.
