Two suspects drowned in Prince Edward County over the weekend have inspired the investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The first incident occurred late on Saturday, 19 July, when emergency employees were called at a resort on County Road 18 immediately after 11 pm.
Earlier, the respondent and members of the public were taking life saving measures at a person by the time of OPP officials arrived.
Despite his efforts, a 51-year-old man in the victim-Toronto region was rushed to the hospital and was later declared dead.
The second incident occurred the next day on Sunday, July 20, before 6 pm, near County Road 11, also with East Lake. According to police, a group was paddling into two canoe when they entered the water to swim. The group was unable to return to its boats.
The OPP stated that a person managed to swim on the shore, and a nearby bistander began a rescue using his boat, which pulled two other persons from the water. However, a fourth person may not be located, indicating large -scale discovery.
Till Monday morning, OPP divers remained on the site at the East Lake, as efforts to locate the missing person continued. The police has not yet released the identity of the person for which it is still unaware.
OPP is reminiscent of residents and visitors to take caution during swimming or boating, especially during high-traffic summer weekends.
