Top Five: It’s no shock that the top five selling smartphones of 2023 are all iPhones

iPhone is popular all over the world, but did you know that the top five best-selling models in the market last year were all iPhones? A new market report was released this month that talks about Apple’s dominance of the high-end market. The report also tells us that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the best-selling model of 2023, which isn’t surprising given the data Apple has reported over the past few quarters.

The Pro Max model sold 34 million units during this period, which is an impressive number for a device that costs over a hundred thousand. Interestingly, Apple managed to sell high-end iPhones without major design changes and gave them a Lightning connector.

The second iPhone on the list is the latest 15 Pro Max, which was only launched last September but has already sold 33 million units, which is a huge number for the new model and Apple.

The next three top models are the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, each with sales of 29 million units, which is another sizable number for the company considering that these models are also new.

If you think Apple may be having trouble selling older iPhones, the company sold 23 million iPhone 13 units, likely helped by demand for iPhones in markets like India and other emerging countries.

But what about Google and Samsung’s Android flagships? Where does the Galaxy S23 series rank on the charts? Surprisingly, the first non-Apple device on the list is the Samsung Galaxy A14 4G model, ranked sixth with 21 million units sold in the past 12 months.

Although the Galaxy S23 Ultra has received a good response, Samsung will still be worried about its performance last year. That being said, the AI-powered Galaxy S24 series may have a better chance this year, something that will become clearer later this year.
