The festival of Diwali has ended leaving the air quality in poor and severe category in various cities of India. From Jind to Rohtak in Haryana and Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh to Meerut and the ‘evergreen’ National Capital Region New Delhi, below is the list of the top 10 most polluted cities in India with the air quality index (AQI) recorded by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) till 4 pm on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
