Tom Scott, born on February 2, 1966, is an American entrepreneur. He is best known as the CEO and co-founder of Nantucket Nectars, a beverage company he started with Tom First in 1989. The company gained national recognition and was listed on the “Inc. 500,” which ranks the fastest-growing U.S. companies, for five consecutive years. In 2002, Scott and his partner sold Nantucket Nectars to Cadbury Schweppes.

Currently, Tom Scott serves as the CEO of The Nantucket Project, an annual conference held on the Massachusetts island of Nantucket.

Tom Scott attended the Landon School, a boys’ preparatory school in Bethesda, Maryland, and graduated in 1985. Later, he went on to graduate from Brown University in 1989.

Nantucket Nectars:
Tom Scott and Tom First, who met at Brown University, founded a business called Allserve after graduating in 1989. They moved to Nantucket and started a floating convenience store for yachts called Allserve. Scott, who had traded his car for a boat in 1988, offered services like delivering groceries and helping with chores to boats in Nantucket Harbor. Their success led them to expand the business to three boats. They ventured into producing juice beverages, competing with big names like Snapple, Coke, Pepsi, and Arizona Ice Tea. In 2002, they sold Nantucket Nectars to Cadbury Schweppes PLC. The growth of their brand is featured in a Harvard Business School case study published in 1998.

Film and Television Credits:
Tom Scott is also known for his work in film and television. His film “Daddy Longlegs” was selected for both the Cannes and Sundance Film Festivals in 2010. He created the HBO series “Neistat Brothers.” Scott produced the documentary film “Apple Pushers” with Edward Norton. He founded Plum TV, a national network of eight stations that received over 14 Emmy Awards®.
