The Watchdog said that the broadcaster on Saturday has “questions” to “respond” on their decision to take chanting during the group’s performance.
It comes after Avon and Summerset Police Confirmed that they are assessing the video of Bob Valn and KneesPerforming on the festival, urged fans with a member of the Irish rap trio to “start a riot” outside the presence of their bandmat’s upcoming court.
One spokesman said that while it had not yet started an official inquiry into the incident, it was demanding the corporation’s response to how the group’s comments were broadcast.
The Watchdog added in a statement said: “We are very concerned about the live stream of this performance, and the BBC has clearly questions.
“We are talking to the BBC over the weekend and we are getting further information as a case of urgency, with what procedures to ensure compliance with our own editorial guidelines.”
