Chennai, September 30 (IANS) Two senior officials of Tamilga Vatri Kazhgam (TVK) of actor-royalty Vijay were sent to 14 days judicial custody on Tuesday, killing 41 people in connection with Stamped, including women and children, and on September, about 60 injured during a large-scale party rally in Velusmipuram.
Karur West District Secretary VP Mathialgan and Karur Central District Secretary Kasi Ponraj were produced before the Karur District Criminal Court and ordered to be held by 14 October. The police nominated him in the first information report (FIR) for alleged laps in mob control and safety measures.
TVK State General Secretary Busi Anand and Deputy General Secretary Nirmal Kumar are also accused, but have not been arrested yet.
The accused faces serious allegations under the Indian Justice, in which the convict is not murdered (Section 105), guilty stagnation (110), an attempt to endanger the lives of others (125), and a valid order (223) disobedience.
Investigators say that the crowd originally exceeded 10,000 declared declared, and narrow access points and poor barricading triggers fatal growth.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin called the tragedy “unprecedented and heart -wrenching”, who visits Karur after the incident to console the remaining people and families of the victims. He announced the state compensation and promised that the investigation “no laps will be spared”.
The government has appointed retired judge Aruna Jagadisin for the head of a member inquiry Commission.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitarman, representing the Prime Minister, visited the affected families and announced Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. He said that the Center “shares the deep grief of the people of Tamil Nadu” and called for a lesson to stop similar tragedies.
TVK founder Vijay, who initially stayed away to avoid further uproar, said in a video message that he was “deeply pain” and promised to meet families soon. “You can do anything for me, but not my party colleagues,” he said.
BJP MP Hema Malini led the NDA Fact-Finding Team, said, “A large, safe place was provided, such a tragedy could be avoided.”
AIADMK leader Edappadi. Palaniswami convicted “organizational failure”, while Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal called the stampede “Beyond Imagination” and demanded strict security norms for big public functions.
