TN police established a special team to hunt and arrest the top TVK leaders at Karur Stamped

September 29 (IANS) police in Karur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu (IANS) police have taken action against senior officials of Tamilga Vatri Kajhgam (TVK) in connection with the stampede of 27 September, in which 41 people died during the election rally of actor-consistent Vijay at Valeyuppalam.

According to official sources, TVK General Secretary N. Anand, Joint General Secretary CTR Nirmalkumar and District Secretary Mathiazhagan are going on steps.

A special police team has been formed, which has been taken into custody to take them into custody for questioning after repeatedly ignoring security warnings ahead of the alleged increase of deadly congestion.

Police investigation revealed that in front of Vijay’s rally, vehicles were parked near Veliuthampalayam Junction, which blocked the movement, while a large number of volunteers and public gathered in the same area, which led to dangerous congestion.

According to reports, local police and officials warned TVK organizers – especially about Anand, Nirmalkumar and Mathiazhagan – about the risks of crowds and potential knee, urging better crowd control and space management.

However, officials say that these warnings were disregarded, contributing to the deadly stampede.

Based on the findings, summons were issued to three leaders for investigation.

But the police said that the leaders have not responded and are currently absconding, indicating the deployment of a special force to trace and arrest them.

Officials confirmed that the first information report (FIR) has already implemented several criminal classes, including allegations related to negligence, causing loss of life.

The Karur tragedy has triggered the statewide shock and political tension. Chief Minister MK Stalin announced a judicial inquiry by the first retired Madras High Court Judge Aruna Jagadisin to establish accountability and recommend security criteria for political ceremonies.

Opposition parties, including AIADMK and BJP, have demanded accountability from the ruling DMK for laps due to Stamped. The special police team has now actively focused on fixing the personal responsibility even after continuing the judicial inquiry, following the special police team.
