Chennai, September 21 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) has appointed independent monitoring agencies to evaluate the quality and authenticity of the placement under the Nan Mudhalavan Finishing School (NMFS) initiative. The scheme launched to improve the employment of youth is aimed at providing industry and training to those demanding jobs in diverse fields.
The NMFS program targets individuals between the ages of 18 to 35, including graduates, diplomas and ITI holders and school dropouts.
The government has brought reputed training partners, industries, government institutions and industrial groups on board to distribute training modules ranging from 100 to 300 hours. Officials said these partners were shortlisted after harsh technical and financial inquiry, which investigated their infrastructure, resources and expertise.
According to TNSDC, while training activities are constantly moving forward, the next important step is to ensure that placements are both real and beneficial. To end this, third-party agencies will be tasked to assess the placement through structured surveys and field checks.
Agencies will be required to provide the employment status of beneficiaries, quality of safe opportunities and a periodic report that occupy the overall performance ratings of training partners. They will evaluate several major parameters, including placement relevance for training provided, employer verification, offering letters, involvement in orders, industry partner credentials and self-employment records.
The feedback will also be collected from both employers and candidates. Dedicated field-level enumerators will be deployed to validate the information specifically for this project and check the authenticity of the claimed placements.
In addition, the in-tradition meeting with the beneficiaries, industry representatives and training providers will be held to verify the data.
The analytical report will then be compiled and shared with the TNSDC to enable data-operated decisions and the ranking of training partners.
Officials insisted that the final objective of including third-party evaluators is to ensure transparency, strengthen accountability and maximize the value of public investments made in the skill development program.
With continuous monitoring and verification, the state government hoped to protect the interests of unemployed youth, aligning the initiative with the actual demands of the job market.
By integrating the independent assessment mechanism, TNSDC tries to make a benchmark model Nan Mudhalavan Finishing School a benchmark model in youth employment and placement tracking across the country.
