TIFF 2025: A guide for the hottest parties, premiere and celeb spots

The Toronto International Film Festival is returning to its fiftieth edition and is slapped to bring a sleep of A-list celebrities in the city for 10 straight days of the Red Carpet Movie Premier.

The festival of this year will be held from 4-14 September and will include the official selection of 291 films. Although most of the high-profile premiere can be too late to score tickets, there are dozens of hotspots across the city where fans can see famous celebrities.

Below is everything that you need to know about the festival, which are coming to the city and what events they are most likely to participate.

TIFF Festival Street returns to its 10th year

A section of King Street West between Peter Street and University Avenue will turn to a pedestrian-keval area from September 4-7 for the tenth year of TIFF’s Street Festival.

The four -day festival includes free entertainment, immersive activities and a lively mix of food, drinks, art and culture. Officials say this year’s festival will include an external food activation along with additional seating by the food market.

The ceremony will expand to David Pett Square from 4–13 September for open-air movie screening and other activities.

The CN Tower will also light the gold at the top of each hour after sunset throughout the festival.

‘Festival Street’ takes place on King Street between University Avenue and Peter Street from 4 to 7 September.

High-profile premiere and special presentations

This year’s festival includes dozens of high-profile premiere and special performances with some leading filmmakers in the world. Here are the 10 most beautiful movies:

Rogers Tiff 50 Timescape

The Rogers Tiff 50 timescape event and installation runs from 5 to 7 septs in Yorkville and is free and open to the public. It is located on Yorkville Avenue between Hazelton Avenue and Beller Street.

Live nightley musical acts will include demonstrations by Bruce Springstein’s E Street Band and some members of the Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra. This music will be a film score from films that are screened in TIFF.

The installation will include interactive multimedia content, archial images, on-stage conversations with directors and even a large screen, including live feed moments from the red carpet in the Roy Thomson Hall and repetition of the events of the previous day.
