Two men and a woman have been arrested Essex In suspicion of helping Russian intelligence Service, Metropolitan Police Said.
Metropolitan Police Trikadi said, two people between the ages of 41 and 46 and a 35-year-old woman were arrested at two different addresses in Grace on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence and taken to a police station in London.
Met said: “The country on which the allegations are related to is Russia.”
Dominic Murphy, the chief commander of the Counter Terrorism Command, said: “Through our recent national Security Casework, we are seeing a growing number, which we will describe as ‘proxy’ to be recruited by foreign intelligence services.
“In fact, two young British men are waiting for the punishment after being recruited by the Wagoner Group-the effectively to make a arson in the Russian state-Ukrainian-Linked warehouse.
“They are probably prolonged by Custodial sentences, however, to be clear, today’s arrest is not related to that investigation in any way.
“But whoever can be contacted and it can be wooed again in Britain to commit criminal activity by a foreign state here.
“Such activity will be investigated and can expect anyone to be prosecuted and there are potentially very serious consequences for those who are convicted.”
All three have been granted bail while continuing the investigation.
The Scotland Yard said it would not disclose the nationalities of the people involved.
