Three Iranian citizens accuse for spying crimes in a UK court

Three Iranian The National has been produced in the court on charges of spying on behalf of Iran’s foreign intelligence service.

Mustafa Sapahwand, 39, Farhad Javadi Manesh, 44, and 55 -year -old Shapoor Kulehali Khani Noori, Nationminster Magistrate Court on Saturday accused crimes under the National Security Act.

St. John’s Wood, Manesh, Sapahwand of Kansel Rise, and Noori of Ealing, spoke through a Persian interpreter at a brief court hearing to confirm their names, birth dates and addresses.

No argument was recorded by Trio, all of whom were wearing gray sweets, in which Sapahwand was participating in a wheelchair and Noori was fond of the dock.

All are accused of engaging to assist the Iranian foreign intelligence service between 14 August 2024 and 16 February 2025.

Sapahwand is also accused of being engaged in monitoring, reconnaissance and open-source research, which is intended to have serious violence, acts against a person in the UK.

Manesh and Noori are charged with further surveillance and engaging in reconnaissance, with the intention that serious violence against a person in Britain will be committed by others.

The three were sent to custody and will be present for the preliminary hearing at Old Belly on 6 June next time.

District Judge Annabel Pilling told the defendants: “I am sending your case to the central criminal court.

“If you are not guilty, a judge and the jury will have a test in the appropriate time.

“The next phase will be a preliminary hearing on 6 June on 6 June to the expert Judge Smt. Justice Chema-Grab.”
