Three people have been killed after US military strike against alleged drug smugglers Caribbean SeaDefense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed this on Saturday.
Announcing the operation via social media, Mr Hegseth said the targeted ship was linked to a US-designated terrorist organisation, although he did not specify the group involved.
The incident marks at least the fifteenth such operation conducted by U.S. forces in the Caribbean or eastern Pacific since the beginning of September.
“This ship – like every other – was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit drug trafficking, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and was carrying narcotics,” Hegseth said in a posting on X.
At least 64 people have been killed so far in US military attacks.

The Trump administration has yet to show evidence to support its claims about the boats that were attacked, their ties to drug cartels, or even the identities of those killed in the attacks.
