CJI Gawai was speaking at a meeting of alumni of Kashmir in Srinagar 2025 program. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, J&K CM Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha were also present during the event.

“It has been said that the history of Kashmir is not only a record of dynasties and rulers, but a chronicle of ideas, philosophers, and civilization. Kashmir is known for its complex civilization. It has embedded the intellectual and cultural heritage of India deeply, which is from the verses of the 14th century and Habba Gawai.

Gawai further appreciated the handicrafts and shawls of Kashmir, mentioning that the state has produced voices that resonate beyond their values.

He said, “Kashmir has produced echoing voices beyond its values. Kashmir is famous for its beauty, rich handicrafts, and excellent Kashmiri shawl. Today, we are here to celebrate many people traveling and fare some of them”, he said.

The CJI also hoped that Kashmir University would produce students who will participate in the development of the nation.

“I have full confidence and full confidence that the University of Kashmir, which is now in Kashmir University and Jammu University, will produce many more students who will participate and contribute to India’s development as a nation as a nation.”

CJI gave an opportunity to speak at the event and thanked Justice Suryakanth, who “assigned” him responsibly.
