A 2-0 win over Brentford on Saturday ended an almost four-month wait for Premier League success at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the latest positive result making it six points and five unanswered goals in front of their fans in recent days.
“Yeah, I was very pleased that we carried the momentum we got from the Brentford game,” Frank reflected.
“Both at home, but in terms of the performance in general I think there were also more aggressive, positive notes to take from the game.”
Tottenham are ninth in the league stage of the Champions League and are strongly set to make the top eight if they can win their final two matches against Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.
If Spurs could finish inside the top eight, it would earn direct qualification to the last 16, but Frank was keen not to get carried away with his chances and instead focused on finishing in the top 24 to secure a place in the play-off round.
Frank said: “Of course, first and foremost, I’m very happy with today’s win, because it means that more or less we are definitely in a very strong position to get into the play-offs, you could say, to progress.
“Those two games are a long way off. I’m glad we have four days now before we face Nottingham (Forest), and that’s what I’m focused on.”
Mathis Tell made his first Champions League appearance of the campaign, when the club made a last-minute decision to include him in the league stage squad as an injury replacement for Solanke.
UEFA rules state that substitutions can be made if a player has been sidelined or relegated for 60 days and Solanke last played for Tottenham on 23 August.
An ankle injury has troubled Solanke throughout the season and despite minor surgery in early October, the England forward has yet to resume team training.
Asked if Solanke was shocked, Frank insisted: “No, it was just an opportunity to get Tell involved, it’s good to have that opportunity. And we can change back if we want to do that.”
Spurs’ victory came in front of club great Son Heung-min, who finally got to say goodbye after missing out on pre-season, and addressed the home crowd before kick-off shortly after a mural of the South Korean was unveiled on the High Road.
Frank said: “Yeah, good to see him. I mainly saw him here right after the game.
“I’m delighted with the reception, a well-deserved welcome he got, a Tottenham legend, a true Tottenham legend coming back home.
“So I was very happy, good to see him. He seems happy and settled in well.”
