tottenham head coach Thomas Frank Fabio is aware of Paratici’s recent criminal case, but praised the “good man” with a “great eye” Italian Officially returned to the club.

Spurs announced on Wednesday that Paratici has returned as co-sporting director in 2023 after being used as an advisor for the past two years following his resignation.

Paratici first joined Tottenham in 2021, but stepped down to deal with allegations of accounting fraud at his former club juventus,

After this the Italian was banned for 30 months fifa – which did not stop his consulting work – before a criminal case on the same matter reached its conclusion in Rome last month after a plea bargain by Paratisti and others involved.

With the court case over, Paratici has been able to return to Tottenham and will work alongside Johan Lang, who has been technical director for the past 24 months but has been promoted to co-sporting director.

Ahead of Sunday’s visit to Aston Villa, Frank said: “I’ve heard about (the case). I don’t know much about the details.

“Since I met Fabio, I know him as a good person and I think he has a lot of quality and I’m looking forward to working with him.

“Johan and Fabio both have strong abilities, I think they complement each other very well, so it feels like a perfect match.

“Johan is very good at building good structures and our recruiting department, our insights department, our analytics department.

“I think Fabio comes with a different perspective and a different experience of 10 years in Italy, with a great network and a great eye and a great approach to football. I think the way they complement each other is great.”

The January transfer window will be the first real chance for Paratici and Lang to show that their new formal partnership can work and last week it was announced that majority owner ENIC, run by the Lewis family trust, has injected £100 million of capital into the club.

This won’t necessarily be just to recruit players, but after three expressions of interest in acquiring shares in Tottenham were “categorically rejected” by the trust, Frank says the long-term commitment of the majority shareholders is clear.

He said: “First and foremost, I think it’s extremely positive that the Lewis family are clearly showing their interest in making everything possible to improve the club and support the club and want us to be as successful as possible.

“I think it’s a sign that they’re pumping cash into the club. Also… it’s remarkable that there are three rumors about a takeover that are so big. I’m very glad I’m not reading too much into it.

“But the main thing is that they show publicly their big, big, big interest in trying to help the club. We know that internally. And how we will spend the money, of course, we will keep to ourselves.”
