At the home of the European champions, Thomas Frank Was playing with fire. and he inevitably got burned Paris Saint-Germain scored five goals,
The Danes, under pressure, had no choice. However, wounds can now be given time to heal. Frank survived his ordeal displayed bravery Proving to the world that there is another way than the extremely negative display of football over the past few weeks.
Frank was lucky that his phallus-on-the-table move to Paris has the potential to be a real gamechanger for his Tottenham project.
sunday is unforgivable north london derby surrender is required the bravest reactionsDeploying two 19-year-olds at the head of Spurs’ midfield, against possibly the most ingenious engine-room in world football, was just the move,
Both tired as the European champions snatched the game from Spurs in the second half at the Parc des Princes, but it wasn’t about the result, it was about the means.
Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray were Spurs’ standout performers, Connecting seamlessly for the visitors’ openerYet, it was all about chutzpah, the courage to attack their illustrious Gallic opponents, in their own backyard, which will give supporters some hope that a brighter future may still exist,
“Me and Lucas are really close,” a clearly excited Gray said after the match. “Every time we are on the pitch together, we trust each other 100 percent. Even if there is pressure on us, we know we can play with each other and we can handle that pressure. We are really close to each other on and off the pitch as well.
“The coaching staff have been absolutely fantastic with everyone, especially our individual play and things like that have improved. Last season was a tough season, obviously it ended really well, but there were a lot of tough moments in the season, especially for me playing centre-back and all these different positions, which I’m grateful for, but there were a lot of setbacks too.
“It’s things to learn and the coaching staff has been really helpful with individual plans this year.”
Neither Gray nor Bergvall had it easy. Gray has been pushed from one position to another, becoming a victim of his own versatility. With his natural ability on the ball and inconsistently cool aura, Gray can fill in anywhere without much of a dip in his effectiveness.
Bergvall is another man who has been thrown into the deep end into the most dangerous waters. Coming from the Swedish top flight, there has been no gradual assimilation to life in the Premier League – he is already one of Spurs’ key, senior players.
Still, it’s clearly clear that neither of them are feeling the pressure. Quite the opposite, in fact.
“Two young players, I’ve said from the beginning, who I have a lot of confidence in,” Frank said. “Archie was ready before Monaco and then unfortunately got a calf injury. So we were waiting for him to be ready again. Today he showed a lot.
“The way those two scored the first goal was also a joy to watch, but the dynamics, the technicality, the ball handling, the mentality, the character, I liked it.”
Now comes the really hard part for Frank. He cannot afford to be in such a narrow position next home against Fulham, and deploying both youngsters together again, with only one central midfielder in either Rodrigo Bentancur or Pep Matar Saar, would represent an even bigger risk than the one taken in Paris.
However, at this stage, Frank may have no choice. If his Spurs project – the role he has been waiting for all his life – also gets off the ground, Gray and Bergvall will almost certainly be his lead actors.
fortune Favours the Brave. Frank has shown that he can be more adventurous. But after Sunday, Spurs’ disgruntled public wants more. And now is not the time to back down.
