“This is not a ceasefire”: JK CM Umar Abdullah, says that ‘Air Defense “” opens “in Srinagar

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed serious concern about the recently announced enmity situation after reporting an explosion and air defense activity in Srinagar on Saturday.

In a post on X, he said, “This is not a ceasefire. The air defense units in the middle of Srinagar have just opened.”

In another post, Abdullah wrote, “Is hell just for the ceasefire? The explosion recited in Srinagar !!!”

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting at his residence on Saturday, with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval and Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Tripathi of Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh and Foreign Secretary Vikram were among those who attended the Misri Meeting.

India and Pakistan on Saturday worked as an understanding on firing and military action.

External Affairs Minister K Jaishankar mentioned a position on X that India will continue its firm and unrelated stand against terrorism.
“India and Pakistan today have made an understanding of an understanding on firing and stagnation of military action. India has continuously maintained a firm and unrelated stance against terrorism in all its forms and expressions. It will continue to do so,” he said.

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri told the media that the Director General of Pakistan’s military operations approached his Indian counterpart on Saturday afternoon.

He said, “The Director General of Pakistan’s Military Operations (DGMO) called the Indian DGMO this afternoon 15:35 hours ago. They agreed that the two sides would shut down all firing and military action from the Indian standard time 1700 hours of Indian standard time.”

He said, “Today, instructions have been given on both sides to make this understanding effective. Directors of military operations will talk again in 1200 hours on 12 May.”

In a joint press conference in the morning earlier, Misri insisted that the work being done by Pakistan against India is “escalatery” and “stimulating” in nature and is being effectively responded.

India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May in response to a disgusting terrorist attack in Pahgam on 22 April. 26 people were killed in the terrorist attack. India attacked nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan captured Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan demanded the previous a series of unprotected growth using artillery guns and drones. (AI)
