Ahmedabad, 23 September (IANS) appreciated the Center’s latest consumer-centric initiative, GST Bathat Utsav, BJP national spokesperson Rohan Gupta on Tuesday praised the Modi government for his practical approach to governance, this said a one, which not only enforces plans, but also implements it.
After his comment, PM Modi gave an open letter to the citizens, celebrating the ‘GST Bathat Udav’, an initiative, which was aimed at directly to consumers on the benefits of GST rates.
Speaking to IANS, Rohan Gupta said, “The Modi government has really gifted people a reason to celebrate this Navratri and Diwali. It is not just a government that announces schemes or schemes, but ensures that those schemes are to be transported to the ground. By streamlining GST, the government has enabled 10 percent reduction in the prices of essential commodities.”
He further said that the initiative is beyond the cut.
“Not only GST has been reduced, but the government has ensured that manufacturers and manufacturers reflect it in their pricing, giving consumers real economic relief.”
Calling it a “sympathetic government”, Gupta made an excavation in the opposition.
“Those who once criticized GST are now trying to take credit. This government is standing with people. From increasing tax-free income limit to increasing taxes, to Rs 12 lakh, to promote ‘Swadeshi’ through such an initiative, PM has always given priority to the common citizen.”
Reacting to the recent claim of Trinumool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee, the GST rate cut was politically motivated after the BJP’s 2024 election shock, Gupta replied and said, “What is happening in Bengal. A double-engine government can catch Bengal with the rest of India.”
Meanwhile, referring to PM Modi’s address to the nation on the eve of GST 2.0 rollout, Banerjee asked if “GST loot uutsav” was happening for the last eight years.
“There is a saying in Bengali that a cat never climbs a tree until it is in danger. The BJP has lost 60 seats and has lost 60 seats and its tally (in Lok Sabha) has gone down from 303 to 240. That is why the GST rate has also reduced from 27 percent to 18 percent. If their seats are less than 200, if their seats are less than 200, then 18 percent, 18 percent.
