At Madhavpur Ghed, the second phase will focus on reconstructing the Shri Madhavaraiji Temple, developing a 300-metre beach area near the temple, widening the road from the turtle breeding center to the temple by 9 metres, and adding essential amenities such as food kiosks, toilets, landscaped areas, sculptures, signage, fountains, selfie points and designated parking and food court zones.
The master plan integrates several sacred and cultural places, located within about a kilometer of each other, to create an uninterrupted spiritual circuit for visiting pilgrims.
Gujarat Pilgrimage Development Board officials said the ongoing works will significantly enhance tourist facilities and strengthen the profile of Madhavpur as a major spiritual tourism destination.
With better accessibility, upgraded infrastructure and improved visitor experience, the coastal pilgrimage town is expected to attract more devotees and travelers from across the country, further enhancing Gujarat’s position in the spiritual tourism sector.
